My father Maher Z. Labib, my hero, my friend, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. The diagnosis was not good. They gave him three months to live. I immediately took a leave of absence from work and resigned in February 2009 not knowing what was to come. In June 2009 I came across the Home Instead franchise for sale. I did my due diligence on the business and the industry. I was impressed with all of it. Maybe it was the fact that I spent every day in a hospital with my dad that gave me an appreciation for home care, or maybe it was the fact I witnessed complete strangers care for my dad so passionately. Whatever it was it felt right.

My father's sickness and death lead to the point where being a Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner was the right move for my family and I. I am grateful for everyday that lead me to this wonderful agency. I now love what I do, and I love meeting with families and sharing my story as I personally know there struggles and pain for caring for an aging and sometimes ill parent. It is a wonderful feeling knowing you make a difference in a seniors life. I have truly found my calling.
